Stay at Home America is dedicated to supporting seniors and adults with disabilities through our unique, customized combination of services, enabling our clients to continue living at home – with confidence.
Normally, to ensure that just the right services are delivered, Stay at Home America begins with a ’client assessment’ visit. This abbreviated initial meeting is conducted by one of our trained Personal Advocates, who has a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in social sciences. We encourage not only the client attend but also the client’s family and friends. The purpose of the initial meeting is to develop a customized support plan to best address the client’s specific needs – with a focus on the quality of their lifestyle.
The initial visit takes about an hour. During the visit, the Personal Advocate evaluates facets of the client’s life at home and matches that evaluation with support services needed in the areas of lifestyle, home and financial. If appropriate, after the initial meeting the Personal Advocate produces a comprehensive report detailing the client’s needs and recommended services, and fees. There is no charge for this initial assessment. The report is passed on to the client for review.
We feel the initial prospective client assessment visit helps establish rapport and confidence between Stay at Home America and the client. Our goal is that both the client and Stay at Home America exit from initial meeting with a strong feeling of trust and a comfortable working relationship in place.
Following, if appropriate and agreed to by the client, the advocate will conduct an additional ‘in-depth’ assessment in much greater detail to ensure all the necessary needs and requirements are discussed. There is a charge for this in-depth assessment that will be detailed in the initial assessment report (discussed above) .
If recommended by the Personal Advocate and approved by the client, the Home Specialist will conduct a thorough assessment of the client’s property, including house and yard, and will recommend changes that will make the home safer and more comfortable. This home assessment covers everything from doorways, stairs, bathrooms and kitchens, to electrical wiring and plumbing, with the focus on identifying problems before they become an emergency. There is a charge for this assessment that will be detailed in the initial Personal Advocates assessment report.
Stay at Home America understands that a client’s needs will change over time. The Personal Advocate’s service plan can be reviewed and revised at any time, upon request.
Once someone gives up their home – it’s gone forever. Utilizing the services of Stay at Home America is more affordable than going to assisted living, provides numerous benefits in terms of maintaining dignity, freedom and choice, and, services can be cancelled at any time.
Stay at Home America. It’s the smart choice for seniors who want to stay in their homes.
